Roger Brown Study Collection LIMITED

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity seats available

The School of the Art Institute of Chicago's Roger Brown Study Collection is a house museum, special collection, and archive. Visitors have the rare opportunity to see renowned artist Roger Brown's studio and home just as he left it upon his death. The collection includes works by Chicago Imagists, self-taught artists, folk and tribal art, objects from material and popular culture, costumes, textiles, furniture, travel souvenirs, and even a Ford Mustang parked in the garage. The building and collection now function as a laboratory where SAIC students engage in aspects of the care, organization, interpretation, and preservation of a vast collection of art and artifacts. The tour group is welcome to linger in the garden following the tour.

Maximum Participants: 30
Fee: Included with registration
Accessibility: Light walking, standing
Transportation:  Brown Line CTA train to Armitage followed by a 3 ½ block walk

Pairing Recommendation: This tour cannot be paired due to the time and distance but we recommend visiting Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art, which is relatively close by cab, Uber or Lyft.
